Stella Lane is in love. Yes its unbelievable for her because she thought she could never be in love. She is suffering from Asperger’s syndrome since her childhood. She is a successful econometrician and she considers her office as her world. Boyfriends, kids, and husbands were always a nightmare for her. She never knew how it is like to fall in love. To be precise” she has never been loved the way she deserves”. She gets weirded out by the idea of even having a heart to heart conversation with someone. Then loving somebody was way out of her league. She hires a professional escort to teach her everything starting from “kissing” to “How to be in a proper relationship” and that is Michael Phan. He is very charming and his interest in martial arts fascinates her and there is certainly something mysterious about him. She feels a lot of new things that she hasn’t felt before. They spend a lot of time together and Stella figures out that being in a relationship is indeed beautiful. Sadly she realizes that things are beautiful only if she is with Michael. What about Michael? Will he ever recognize Stella’s love for him? Can they ever be together despite their odds? Honestly, I fell in love with Michael and Stella. I simply loved them both and I just can’t stop thinking of them though I finished this book a week back.
Helen Hoang, the author is that shy person who never talks. Until she does. And the worst things fly out of her mouth. She is addicted to romance novels. She was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in line with what was previously known as Asperger’s syndrome. Her journey inspired “The Kiss Quotient”. So this book was all over Instagram and so I thought why not. I don’t regret buying this book at all. It was an absolutely delightful read. I simply loved Stella. While reading the book I kept on wondering how a person can be so charming? Her innocence is something that I yearn for. Michael Phan stole my heart and I just can’t stop thinking about him. He is such a stunner with an impressive personality. His mysterious nature is truly alluring. The way he treated Stella was truly adorable and appealing. Anybody would wish for such a relationship and I honestly didn’t want this book to end. Another thing I loved about this book is that it gives importance to family and familial relationships. Michael’s relationship with his mother is beautifully explained here and the warmth of his relationship with his cousin Quan is truly fascinating. This story is super simple and sweet.
This book is a delightful read and I would love to recommend this book to you all. I’m sure that you will certainly fall in love with Michael, Stella and all the characters in this book. So overall I would like to give this book a 5/5. So if you haven’t read this book, read it soon and trust me you won’t regret it.
