I totally loved this book and honestly, I’m super excited to write this review. Jem Finch and his sister Scout Finch are having their holidays. Everything about their village fascinates them as they are kids. They live in Maycomb where race and class disparities are present. They lead a very peaceful life along with their father Atticus and their cook Calpurnia. Though their mother passed away at a very young age Calpurnia takes care of them in a very good manner. Then, Dill, another kid who is their friend arrives and he is anxious to know about the Radley family. Considering the fact that they are kids and the eerie nature of the Radley family they cannot be blamed for being anxious. The kids Jem and Scout are brought up with great moral values as their father is a lawyer.

Sadly everything turns upside down when their father Atticus begins to advocate for a black man charged with the rape of a white girl. They are shamed everywhere starting from their school to their neighborhood. Scout and Jem are both confused and worried. The whole town is prejudiced and everybody is curious to know how the verdict is given. On the other side Jem, Scout, and Dill are still curious to see Boo Radley who is locked up inside the Radley house. It’s a very funny and likable read. It’s a page-turner and each and every page will leave you astonished. Its written by Nelle Harper Lee who was an American novelist who immediately became successful after publishing this book in 1960.

I am in love with this book and honestly, I can’t stop admiring the writer. I found a lot of quotes and I can’t explain how much I love them. Here I’m putting up a few quotes which I liked the most.

“I never loved to read. One does not love breathing.”

Seriously this is one of the best quotes about reading I have found so far.

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view..until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”

See as an individual I always had problems in accepting other peoples perspectives but after reading this I understood that things are certainly different.

“The one thing that doesn’t abide by a majority rule is a person’s conscience.”

This is seriously an amazing quote and it is applicable to everybody.

“I think there is just one kind of folks. Folks.”

This quote is super relevant when you consider the book.

“Real courage is when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.”

This quote really inspired me to try, no matter what

“You just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anybody says to you, don’t let ’em get your goat. Try fightin with your head for a change”

I’ve always believed in aggression and fights but this quote is just fantabulous

“It’s never an insult to be called what somebody thinks is a bad name. It just shows how poor that person is, it doesn’t hurt you.”

This is one of the coolest quotes that I have seen in a while

“I said I liked it very much, which was a lie, but one  must lie under certain circumstances and at all times when one cant do anything about them.”

Again this one is a very insightful quote.

So this book taught me to see life from a totally different perspective and I felt so good after reading it!!!
